Colin West is an award-winning director, producer, and screenwriter based in Los Angeles. He is currently an Annenberg Graduate Fellow at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts. He’s produced numerous short films, animations, and music videos, and has a slate of feature films in development. Upon graduating from Ohio State University with a Bachelor in Fine Arts, he worked for MacArthur-winning visual artist Ann Hamilton, and then as a Producer for CBS Interactive (CNET). He’s since been a freelancer in commercial film and television productions across Los Angeles and worked in Film & TV Development for Matt Reeve’s (Dir. Cloverfield, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) company, 6th & Idaho, in association with 20th Century Fox. His 2014 short film We Were Not Made For This World, adapted from Eisner Award-winning cartoonist Paul Hornschemeier's comic of the same name, was shown internationally in the festival circuit and was awarded a Vimeo Staff Pick. His short film The Long Slow Flight of the Ashbot, a science fiction short adapted from Ignatz Award-winning cartoonist Joel Priddy, won the best science fiction short at the Berlin Short Film Festival. His films have screened internationally on the festival circuit and been featured on io9.com, GeekTyrant.com, LaughingSquid.com, FilmShortage.com, and CNET.com.
